I would have done a new blog post this evening. I have photos and everything... But then I was prompted to update my phone software online. Baaaad idea.
In fact it was a terrible idea. Two hours later, nokia support won't help me (although after holding for nearly an hour, they told me they might phone me back tomorrow, if I am a good girl).
Software update worked fine, according to my PC. It all looked good. But trying to transfer my back up data causes the phone to die and I get a very friendly message saying "Phone start-up failed, contact the retailer".
I originally typed that as "Phone start-up failed, please contact the retailer" but as it turns out, this was inaccurate. There wasn't any punctuation either, but I am learning to get over my issues with that.
This has happened to me before, after I dropped my phone down the toilet at a job interview (I got the job - obviously demonstrating the necessary incompetence).
Last time was fine. I rang someone at Nokia (they were still honoured with a capital letter at this point) who answered the phone straight away and told me to press green, *, 3 and the power button. It worked a treat.
I had to take my fingers to a yoga class beforehand and even when they were trained to level 4 of ayurvedic bendiness I still sprained at least three digits trying to achieve it. But it worked!
No such luck this time. I am obviously too software updated* now.
* This is a technical term which you may not fully understand. Not to worry, carry on.
To add insult to injury, during the fifty-odd minutes I spent on hold I had to listen to a recorded message telling me I could update my own phone software online, over and over again.
This didn't enrage me at all. Of course not...
:-(
Don't try to phone me.
